Wal-Mart said today that it is launching "DRM-free" MP3 music downloads. Single tracks will be 94 cents a piece and a whole album will sell for $9.22. Rights-free tracks coming from US site Wal-Mart is to sell free of DRM-free MP3s on its website, which means tracks should play on competing multimedia players such as the iPod and Microsoft's Zune.
