If you like the Xbox and Zune media player, Microsoft has a phone just for you. Called the Kin, as in kinfolks, it's built by Sharp, powered by Microsoft and sold by Verizon Wireless. The Kin is designed for "the social media generation," said a Microsoft spokesman.

In an interview with Bloomberg, senior product manager for Zune Terry Farrell apparently hinted that Microsoft might lower the price of Zune Pass. Microsoft on Thursday said it might cut the price of its Zune Pass subscription service. Senior product lead Terry Farrell wouldn't say how certain this was or how much it might drop, but recognized that the Zune's $15 monthly, unlimited downloads weren't necessarily competing well.
